A building code is a set of minimum requirements for construction covering SAFETY-safety involving life, health, fire and structural stability. Most areas have enforced codes governing construction in the community. They may be administered by a city, county or state or by a combination of the three. There are SIX ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS (different building codes/loads) to choose. There is an 85% chance that your local area is within one of these standards: 20 Snow Load/ 90 Wind Load/ Exposure B or C/ Seismic C/ IBC2003 (Average Snow, Average Wind) 0 Snow Load/ 130 Wind Load/ Exposure C/ Seismic C/ IBC2003 (No Snow, Extreme Wind) 12 Snow Load/110 Wind Load/ Exposure C/ Seismic C/ IBC2003 (Light Snow, Heavy Wind) 30 Snow Load/ 90 Wind Load/ Exposure C/ Seismic C/ IBC2003 (Heavy Snow, Average Wind) 50 psf Roof Snow / 90 mph Wind / Exposure C / Seismic C / IBC 2003 (Extreme Snow, Average Wind) 25 psf Roof Snow / 100 mph Wind / Exposure C / Seismic D / IBC 2003 (High Seismic) Please contact your local building department to verify that these codes meet or exceed your local standards (important: it is better to choose a design above your code requirements instead of below). If you need a code/load adjustment, simply select the code/load that comes closest to your standard and place a $500.00 deposit. Your project coordinator will contact you within 2-3 business days and adjust the design for a small fee. If you don't wish to pay the amount for the code adjustment, the order will be cancelled at no charge!
